Schloss Ahrensburg is located in the southern part of Schleswig-Holstein, not far from the city of Hamburg. The original structure on the island in the artificial moat was built after 1585, but it served artistic rather than defensive purposes.
The castle and its museum are open to the public. It can also be rented for weddings and hosts concerts and children's events.
