The Rock of Cashel was the traditional seat of the kings of Munster for several hundred years prior to the Norman invasion. The picturesque complex has a character of its own and is one of the most remarkable collections of Celtic art and medieval architecture to be found anywhere in Europe. Few remnants of the early structures survive; the majority of buildings on the current site date from the 12th and 13th centuries.

Rock of Cashel The interior of the cathedral ruins provided some protection against the wind and rain. The site was impressively perched upon a hill, seeing it from a distance was quite impressive today, I can only imagine what people thought of it back, 1000 years ago.
Celtic Cross My brother is a huge fan of the Boondock Saints movie. As my wife and I traveled to Ireland this past fall, I endeavored to search for a Celtic Cross that might work as some wall art in their new home. While I found hundreds of crosses during our journey, this one stood out, particularly with the clouds and pasture behind it. If you look closely, I took this in the middle of some rain, squall really! Enjoy/!
