Chillon Castle is an island castle located on Lake Geneva (Lac Leman), south of Veytaux in the canton of Vaud. Chillon is amongst the most visited castles in Switzerland and Europe. According to the castle website, Chillon is listed as "Switzerland's most visited historic monument".

CFF RABe 523 059 à Veytaux-Chillon La RABe 523 059 FLIRT des CFF assurant la S2 12282 Villeneuve - Vallorbe, ici lors de l'arrivée à Veytaux-Chillon, une belle halte CFF bien typique pour la région avec le fameux Château de Chillon comme "déco" à droite.
Re 420 245 / Chillon Eine Stelle die jeder kennt, dennoch immer wieder einen Besuch wert. Re 420 245 bespannte einen Güter von Lausanne gegen Brig und fuhr bei Chillon am bekannten Château de Chillon vorbei.
Am 843 de CFF Cargo avec TWINDEXX à Veytaux-Chillon L'Am 843 082 de CFF Cargo achemine la RABe 502 207 TWINDEXX IR200 de Genève à Villeneuve aux atéliers de Bombardier, ici à Veytaux-Chillon au bord du Lac Léman. Comme le bleu panneau de point d'arrêt le dévoile, on se trouve sur la ligne Lausanne - Villeneuve, équipée depuis dimanche dernier avec la signalisation en cabine ETCS Niveau 2. C'est à dire que les signaux resp. l'autorisation de rouler est directement transmis dans la cabine de conduite, il n'y a plus de signaux extérieures. Par conséquence, tous les trains doivent être équipés de ce système. La raison pour laquelle le nouveau train CFF pour le traffic grande lignes est remorqué par l'Am 843 n'est cépendant pas l'absence de l'ETCS (au contraire, tous les Twindexx seront équipés avec ETCS depuis le début). Mais la ligne Lausanne - Viège n'est pas encore entièrement adaptée pour la circulation de trains à deux étages et pour quand même pouvoir transférer ce train, la ligne de contact a dû être déclenchée sur une partie du trajet.

Avec la mise en service de la signalisation en cabine ETCS Niveau 2 entre Lausanne (excl.) et Villeneuve (Incl.) le 23 avril prochain, chaque train circulant sur cette ligne doit absolument être équipé de l'ETCS Niveau 2. À l'heure actuelle et pour des raisons de coûts, aucun véhicule historique n'est équipé de ce système. La circulation des trains historiques entre Lausanne et Villeneuve nécessitera donc à l'avenir l'adjonction d'une locomotive munie de ce système en tête. C'est pourquoi l'association Pacific 01 et le team 12320/CFF Historic ont organisées plusieurs courses sur ce tronçon le week-end dernier.

Veytaux-Chillon An einem schönen Sommertag im Mai 2015 machte ich mich auf Richtung Westschweiz um ein paar Stellen zu fotografieren, die mir schon lange unter den Nägel brannten. Am Morgen infolge leutend roten "Bau-Kabelkanals" leider nicht das gewünsche Resultat gebracht, lief es am Nachmittag schon besser. Ein Sharing Auto von Mobility geholt, ging es zuerst an die MOB, danach nach Roche VD um kurz vor Sonnenuntergang noch in der Haltestelle von Veytaux-Chillon vorbeizuschauen. Sieht man doch oft Bilder von der Morgenstelle, ist die Abendstelle doch viel weniger bekannt aber in meinen Augen kommt hier das Schloss und die Landschaft um den Lac Léman besser zur Geltung. Der Lokführer eines verirrten TILO Flirt hält im Spiegel Ausschau, um korrekt anzuhalten damit eine Dame einsteigen kann, welche knapp sichtbar sich leider nach hinten statt vorne bewegte um einzusteigen... :-) Rechts im Bild das wunderschön erhaltene Schloss Chillon, welches eine geschichtlich interessante Vergangenheit hat und im Innern ein öffentlich zugängliches Museum beherbergt.

Dark days "Château de Chillon" in Lake Geneva (Lac Léman) taken as a long exposure with Lee Big-Stopper filter. I actually expected an evening with a beautiful sunset, but it was quite heavily overcast, that's why we cannot really see the alps behind the clouds. Anyway, I quite like the atmosphere, especially in B&W.
