The first Aigle Castle was built in 1179 by the Barons of Aigle in the form of a small fortification, that later became the center of the modern castle, along the road over the Col du Pillon and Col des Mosses passes of the Rhone. However, only traces of this first castle have been archaeologically discovered.

C1 + Château d'Aigle = ❤️ Als ich letzten Sommer im Chablais unterwegs war, wollte es der Zufall, und ich konnte dieses (einmalige) Foto machen. Nachdem ich beim Depot der Transports Publics du Chablais SA kurz vorbeischaute und auf dem Weg zur bekannen Fotostelle oberhalb Aigle zu Fuss unterwegs war, rauschte an mir in Richtung Château d'Aigle ein Volvo der PostAuto AG vorbei. Ich fragte mich, weshalb inmitten von Rebbergen ein PostAuto durchfährt, denn keine Linie führt durch die sehr enge Strasse. Kurzezeit später höhrte ich einen Motor aufheulen. Da war mir klar, sofort zurücksprinten und mich überraschen lassen was für ein Bus ich vor dem Château d'Aigle fotografieren darf. Der Zufall wollte es, dass ein wunderschöner Mercedes-Benz O530Ü (Citaro Ü) mit Baujahr 2003 in die schöne Strasse einbog. Das Fahrzeug fährt für den Postautohalter Lathion Transports SA und wurde von der Regie Brig übernommen. Der Bus mit der PostAuto-ID 3529 und der internen Nummer 12 ist mit dem Kennzeichen VS 241'966 eingelöst. Da sich der Firmensitz dieser Firma in Sion befindet und das Unternehmen in der Region Aigle keine Linien fährt, war ich umso mehr erstaunt. Dieser Moment war einer dieses Jahres, an den ich mich sehr gerne zurück erinnere und mich über diese Überraschung freue.
